June 5th is World Environment Day every year, and this year's theme is "Beautiful China, I am an Actor." On June 3rd, at Xinghua Park, a series of themed promotional activities for the 2018 Hefei World Environment Day, titled "Beautiful China, I am an Actor," is in full swing. This event is co-hosted by the Hefei Environmental Protection Bureau, Alashan SEE Anhui Project Center, Green Jianghuai, and Jianghuai Morning Post, and organized by the Hefei Luyang District Environmental Protection Bureau and Green Jianghuai. Through various environmental protection activities, it guides all sectors of society to respect nature, adapt to nature, and protect nature, consciously practice a green lifestyle, and jointly build a beautiful China!

This event calls for the protection of the endangered aquatic "giant panda" - the Yangtze River dolphin,
receiving thousands of children's drawings.
Beautiful China, we are the actors.
The report of the 19th National Congress clearly states to accelerate the reform of the ecological civilization system, build a beautiful China, and make our country a prosperous, democratic, civilized, harmonious, and beautiful socialist modern power. The word "beautiful" is written into the goal of building a modern socialist country for the first time. This year's government work report states, "We must work together to build a beautiful China with blue skies, green lands, and clear waters."
This event actively practices this environmental protection concept, with the Alashan SEE Anhui Project Center leading social welfare organizations to advocate for Hefei citizens and the public to start from themselves, protect the environment around them, and jointly achieve the vision of a beautiful China.
The event site set up a total of 15 booths, divided into ecological area, environmental protection area, and exhibition area. In the ecological and environmental protection areas, there are interactive programs such as environmental protection flying chess, energy-saving and emission-reduction compass, and little planters, where citizens can learn about environmental protection knowledge through various mini-games. There are also intangible cultural heritage performances such as Yangtze River dolphin shadow puppetry and woodblock printing in the environmental protection area, where inheritors bring their dolphin works to showcase the cuteness of the Yangtze River dolphin, promoting the environmental protection concept of protecting the dolphin in a special way.
Children happily join the game segment, learning environmental protection knowledge through play.
This year's World Environment Day theme is "Beautiful China, I am an Actor," which hopes for the active participation of the whole society in ecological and environmental affairs. So, how do you plan to act in caring for the ecological environment and participating in nature protection?
The Hefei Environmental Protection Bureau and Alashan SEE Anhui Project Center jointly initiated the "Beautiful China, I am an Actor" children's drawing competition titled "I Call for the Yangtze River Dolphin" with Jianghuai Morning Post. In just one month, over 1,000 excellent drawings were collected. On the day of the event, some works were displayed on-site, and 34 award-winning works were selected.
Yu Xiaoxia, Secretary-General of the Alashan SEE Anhui Project Center and Chairman of Jinfeng Environment, stated that the Yangtze River dolphin is a smiling animal that lives in the Yangtze River basin, and its existence is a standard for assessing the ecological environment of this generation. "Therefore, protecting the Yangtze River dolphin means protecting our Yangtze River and our ecological environment. This is completely in line with the environmental protection theme of 'Beautiful China, I am an Actor.'" To protect the Yangtze River dolphin, the Alashan SEE Anhui Project Center has also established dolphin protection teams in Anqing and Tongling to safeguard the dolphins and the Yangtze River.
